Students will explore the use of small pegs to applique' (aka attach) wood to a wood background. After a demonstration by the instructor, students will practice the steps involved: cutting, sanding, measuring, creating a design using triangular shapes, finally attaching the pieces to the background. Natural history associated with native wood species will be discussed. Each student will create one (or more, if time) unique wood handing of their own design. If you have them, please bring a side cutter, battery operated drill and a small hammer. Otherwise tools can be shared. Please bring a lunch. Class is for those 16 and up.
