The Superior String Alliance (SSA) performs on Thursday, Dec 10th at 7:30 pm. You may have missed this marvelous group when they were scheduled in June or if you heard them then, now is the time to listen to their music again.
Danielle Simandl playing Violin, Ria Hodgson, Viola, and Lindsey Crabb, Cello make up the trio. Their program includes a diverse set of works for violin, viola, and cello composed by Ravel, Caroline Shaw, Bartok, Prokofiev, Mozart, Mark O’Connor, Piazzolla, and more.
The SSA Chamber Players perform concerts throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is derived from the professional faculty who teach at the SSA Summer Music Camp, which takes place in Michigamme during June and July and serves string students in grades 4-12. Founded in 1984, the Superior String Alliance is a non-profit organization that supports the art of learning and performing music on the violin, viola, cello, and bass.
