This year's Calumet Art Center summer youth art immersion will provide an introduction to various art mediums including drawing, painting, weaving (fiber art), zining (drawing + design-thinking), and intermedia as a whole. Lesson plans will incorporate science, math and history. Classes will be taught by Paige Gwyn, a certified art teacher and the Executive Director of the Art Center. Class size is limited for students to have time for one-on-one mentoring with the instructor. Ages 9 and up are welcome. Fee is $155 per student. Pre-registration and payment in full is required. Classes will run every Saturday from June 30 through August 11, from 10 am to noon.
